Rent receipts — a year in one click
Employers ask for monthly rent receipts before allowing HRA exemption. Fill the details once; get twelve receipts, print them, take the landlord's signature. Everything stays in your browser.
What makes a receipt acceptable
- Contents: tenant and landlord names, property address, amount, period, date, payment mode, landlord's signature. Above ₹1 lakh a year, the landlord's PAN (or a declaration if they have none) — Rule 26C.
- Revenue stamp: customary on cash receipts above ₹5,000; not needed for bank/UPI payments but harmless.
- Above ₹50,000 a month: you must deduct 2% TDS once a year under s.194-IB and give the landlord Form 16C.
- Old regime only: HRA exemption doesn't exist in the new regime — receipts matter only if you opt out.
- Privacy: receipts are built in your browser and printed locally. Nothing is sent to us.
