GST tools live; 57th Council moved to 7 October

The Council meeting expected on 12 September was rescheduled for the BRICS summit, so nothing changed — and the settled rules are now in two new tools: the GST registration checker (₹20L/₹10L thresholds, Notification 10/2017-IT export exemption, Rule 14A 3-day fast-track) and the export of services checker (five s.2(6) conditions, the 30 March 2026 intermediary change, LUT/Rule 96A), with a full LUT guide. We will re-verify after 7 October.

CA review complete — the "draft" labels come off

A practising Chartered Accountant answered our 12-point verification sheet. The rules behind all three live tools were confirmed — including that film artists and authorised representatives keep their specified-profession status. On two points where practitioners read the law differently (the regime opt-out form, and the intermediary-export start date) our pages now show both readings, as promised in our methodology.

Slab rates verified: Budget 2026 changed nothing

We cross-checked the s.202 slab table and s.156 rebate against post-Budget-2026 coverage and the text of the Act: the 0–4L/…/30% table, the ₹60,000 rebate to ₹12 lakh, marginal relief and 4% cess all carry into tax year 2026-27 unchanged. Our presumptive tax calculator and advance tax scheduler are live on these verified numbers.

Site launched on the new Act

ITR Saral goes live, built directly on the Income-tax Act, 2025 (in force since 1 April 2026). First tool: the presumptive eligibility checker (s.58 / s.62(4)). Watching: the 57th GST Council meeting (12 September 2026) — registration simplification is on its agenda, and our GST tools will fold in whatever it decides.
